Acne is caused by over-production of the hormone androgen, which stimulates the sebaceous glands to produce excessive amounts of oil. This oil becomes trapped beneath the skin’s surface, and as bacteria fight to break down the oil the sebaceous glands become inflamed and infected, producing acne. During the Ellipse IPL treatment, light is absorbed by the haemoglobin in the blood, and converted to heat, which causes a minor injury to the sebaceous glands and slows down the overproduction of oil that leads to acne. Thread Vein Removal

Instead of the hair pigment absorbing the light, the blood contains haemoglobin, which absorbs the light and converts it into heat. This destroys the protein in the wall of the thread vein, and as a result, the vein will gradually disappear.
